Women in Sports Helping Inspire the Next Generation (WISHING) is a mentorship program designed to give girls the opportunity to learn about careers in the sports industry.
Junior and senior aged students are matched with three women who work in the sports industry. Through mentorship, job shadowing opportunities and scholarships, WISHING strives to equip ALL women with the knowledge of working in sports.
We believe that every woman should have the knowledge, opportunity and financial means to pursue a career in the sports industry.
Mentorship
The program runs from September to May. All program meetings take place once a month for an hour.
Job Shadowing
Students will gain hands-on experience in the sports industry by participating in job shadow opportunities through their mentor. There are two job shadowing opportunities through the program (one per semester).
Scholarships
WISHING provides scholarships to ensure that every woman has the opportunity and financial means to attend college.
One Time Events
Do you want to request WISHING mentors at your school or event? We hold lunch and learns, panel discussions and presentations for students. We are happy to work with you to think of other ideas to fit your specific needs!
